Sanjhi Sikhiya is a non-profit organization in Punjab, India, dedicated to improving the public education system in the state. The organization’s mission is to ensure that every child in Punjab has access to quality education.
About PYLP 2025
The Punjab Youth Leaders Program (PYLP) is a two-year, full-time leadership development initiative designed for individuals with strong leadership potential. The program seeks to cultivate a community of future leaders equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive meaningful change in Punjab. By the conclusion of the program, participants will be well-prepared for careers in the social or development sectors.
PYLP serves as the flagship program of the Sanjhi Sikhiya Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to transforming Punjab into a region filled with hope, courage, and opportunities.
As a fellow in this program, participants will work with 10-15 government primary schools to create a shared vision for their growth. They will collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including school administrations, teachers, community members, panchayat leaders, and local youth, to bring this vision to fruition.
Throughout the duration of the program, fellows will engage in monthly sessions aimed at honing their leadership abilities. These sessions will include mentorship from experts, interactive workshops, and various other opportunities designed to foster both personal and professional development.
Competencies Required
- Knowledge of the social/development sector, prior experience in education will be preferred.
- Ability to set goals, think creatively to solve problems, and deliver high-quality results.
- Strong skills in managing your time and planning daily activities to meet long-term goals.
- Ability to identify, build and manage inclusive partnerships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Good communication skills in Punjabi, English, and Hindi to engage and inspire stakeholders. Fluency in any of the two language is must.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, Canva, and a willingness to adapt to and learn new technology tools.
Eligibility Criteria
- A graduate degree in any discipline
- Must be under 30 years old (by June 2025).
- Prior experience in leadership, community work, or education is helpful but not compulsory
- Open to individuals from all backgrounds, including those who are new to this type of work, who are interested in solving on ground challenges in Punjab.
- An interest in improving education in Punjab, whether through leadership, teacher support, or working with communities.
- Passion for specifically in education is welcome but not essential—what matters is a commitment to creating meaningful change.
Stipend
Each young leader will be supported with a monthly stipend of INR 20,000 (inc. ESI, EPF, Professional Tax, etc.)

- Selection Process: TBA (On Invite only basis, location will be shared with selected candidates)
- Result Announcement – April-May, 2025
- Joining and Induction – 1st week of June, 2025

Location
PYLP Young Leader will be based out of either Patiala, Ropar, Fatehgarh Sahib or Bathinda, any other district of Punjab.
