About UIET, Punjab

The University Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in 2002 and is an in-campus Department of Panjab University, Chandigarh. The institute has maintained high standards in technical education. The well-qualified faculty is the backbone of the institute. Well-equipped laboratories provide students with exposure to practical aspects of engineering. State-of-the-art computing facilities and internet connectivity through the 1Gbps National Knowledge Network (NKN) provide ample scope for students to learn around the clock. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and students with laptops can avail of this facility in the institute as well as in the hostels. With the regular revision of syllabi, more industry-oriented programmes and open electives have been introduced in the curriculum.

About IIT Mandi iHub & HCI Foundation

IIT Mandi iHub and HCI Foundation is a Technology Innovation Hub (TIH). It is focused on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The Hub was incorporated on 24th September 2020. It was set up by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi under India’s National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). The iHub is planned to make India a leader in human-computer interaction (HCI) research in the world.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree in Engineering and Technology in CSE/ IT/ ECE/ or equivalent
    allied branch.
  • Those who have qualified for UGC-NET/GATE or a National level test by agencies and institutions like DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, ISSER, PU etc. would be preferred.

Experience

Experience working on image processing, machine learning, and deep learning specifically
related to sentiment analysis, human emotion detection or related domains. Strong programming skills and proficiency in programming languages like Python along with associated libraries.

Duration

Appointment is initially for one year likely to be extended up to another one year OR coterminous with the project, depending upon the satisfactory performance of the candidate.
