What is the duration of the Fellowship and the expected residency period?

The Fellowship term is a minimum of six months and a maximum of two years, with fellows expected to be in residence from March 1st to December 15th. Winter residency is optional, and fellows may undertake study tours during this period.

Can previous fellows reapply for the IIAS Fellowship?

Fellowship applications from scholars who have been fellows of the institute within the last five years will not be considered.

How does the Institute handle the publication of research findings by fellows?

The IIAS evaluates and may consider publishing or co-publishing the monographs of fellows. The institute holds the first right of publication and shares the copyright of the submitted monograph
