State Council Of Science and Technology, U.P. was established on 1 May 1975 by Govt. of U.P. as an autonomous body registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 by restructuring U.P. State Council of Scientific and Industrial Research; the origin of which lies in the Scientific Research Committee constituted under University Grant Commission in the year 1947.
The main aim of the Council is to promote the overall development of SandT in the State. Research Promotion; Technology Development, Upgradation and Transfer; Entrepreneurship Development; and SandT Communication and Popularisation are the main activities of the Council. It sponsors time-bound and result-oriented programmes relevant to the state to various Universities, Colleges, Technical Institutions, R and D Laboratories, Voluntary Organisations (VOs) Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and Individual Innovators
Council of Science and Technology, U.P. offers summer research fellowships for two months to bright students of M.Sc. 1st and 2nd year to work with renowned Professors/Scientists from premier institutes of India. Selected students are given a monthly stipend of RS.25000.00 for two months. The fellowship will be given only to those students who are studying in Uttar Pradesh.
CSTUP-Summer Research Fellows will be selected on the basis of merit as per the following criteria:
