The group has emerged as a counterbalance to Western-dominated systems. Through its New Development Bank, BRICS finances infrastructure and sustainability projects, significantly impacting global progress.
At the 2023 Youth Summit in South Africa, the BRICS Youth Council was launched to promote youth collaboration in education, entrepreneurship, innovation, volunteerism, and health. India, tasked with leading the entrepreneurship working group, plays a crucial role in driving youth-centric, innovative solutions to address shared global challenges.
The Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India is organizing 8 run-up events across the country, offering a platform for young minds to showcase their talent, innovation, and ambition. The main BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Working Group Meeting will take place from March 3rd to 7th, 2025, in New Delhi. As a Knowledge Partner, GCTC is committed to supporting the success of this initiative by providing strategic insights, content development, and subject-matter expertise, aimed at enhancing the outcomes of the Working Group Meeting. GCTC’s contribution will play a key role in facilitating impactful discussions and fostering collaboration among BRICS nations.

IIM Jammu proudly hosts an entrepreneurial extravaganza designed to spotlight Jammu and Kashmir’s talent and innovation. The event features 50 vibrant stalls showcasing a diverse range of products and services by startups from the region. These stalls not only highlight the ingenuity of local talent but also provide a direct platform for businesses to engage with potential investors and customers.
The event aligns with the Mission Yuva initiative through the Yuva J&K scheme, with key partnerships aimed at nurturing youth potential and empowering them to drive sustainable development.
Adding intellectual depth, a panel discussion brings together leading angel investors and successful entrepreneurs who will share their insights, experiences, and strategies to inspire the next generation of innovators. Two exciting competitive events further enrich the agenda. The pitching session will see 7-8 participant startups, each with up to three members, present their innovative business ideas. Meanwhile, the idea competition invites 12-15 individual startups, each given 3 minutes to present transformative concepts. These events offer potential seed funding opportunities, opening doors for startups to turn their visions into reality.
These Run Up Events will serve as a platform to select candidates based on their business ideas, who will then form part of the Indian delegation at the main event, scheduled for March 03-07, 2025.
