Internship Experience at Diginique Tech Lab, IIT Roorkee by an intern. Futuristic labs, people from different cultural backgrounds!

First day formalities included submitting a joining letter and a recommendation from the lab. Infrastructure was well maintained, as I had joined for research purposes. My major lookout was for a facility of instrumentation for scientific work, which was well established with high end instruments fully operational in the lab. All in all, the facilities and the systemic work ethics gave a good impression of how things worked.
The main tasks assigned to me were that of solving machine learning related project work using python like rain prediction, emotion recognition. I worked on multiple projects simultaneously.
Work environment was enough satisfied, there was an amazing team work environment and work station. The labs were futuristic and it motivated me to work hard.
Got to work in an academic and research-based environment. That can do better than I can imagine. Interacting with people from different fields, working with them, exchanging ideas are invaluable benefits.
Hectic schedule and very competitive environment.
Stipend was not provided.
The internship was in IIT, so accommodation was in the institute dorm. It took little time to walk at times.
If I intend to stick to the academic field, research internships at universities will help me get acquainted with various research techniques, instruments and research cultures. Some universities might follow a systems-based approach to research, while some might follow a highly critical approach. Exposure to such cultures will definitely add to my experience base.
