Applications are invited for Summer Internship Programme 2023 at NIT Rourkela. The last date for application is March 28, 2023.

About the Summer Internship Programme

NIT Rourkela has launched a Summer Internship Programme with the objective to encourage ambitious bright students from different Institutes in India other than NIT Rourkela to pursue innovative research and development projects under the guidance of NIT Rourkela faculties. The selected summer fellow will register at NIT Rourkela where there will be no institute registration fees. The Institute is pleased to provide 50 nos. of Summer Fellowships.

Eligibility

The student should be free in the above-mentioned period (May 16 to Jul 15, 2023); otherwise, he/she should not apply. The request of late joining or early leaving will not be entertained.
He/she should have all grade sheets from the previous semesters (For example, if he/she appears for the 6th-semester examination in April/May 2023, up to the 5th-semester result should be available at the time of online application).
Any B.E./B. Tech student with a good academic record, who has appeared in at least the 4th-semester examination.
Any B. Arch/Integrated M.Sc./Integrated M.Tech/Dual degree student with a good academic record, who has appeared in at least the 6th-semester examination.
Any M.Sc/MA in Development Studies/MBA student with a good academic record, who has appeared in at least a 2nd-semester examination.
Passout students / Students who are in the final year of the above-mentioned degrees are not eligible to apply.

Fellowship and Other Facilities

Fellowship or other Financial assistance will not be provided.
Free Accommodation in the NIT Halls of Residences.
Laboratory, Library Facilities (without borrowing), and internet facilities.
Medical facility (consultation with a doctor at the Institute dispensary).
Hostel fooding will be on a payment basis (Approx Rs. 115/- per day).

FP: Food Process Engineering.
HS: Humanities & Social Sciences.
ID: Industrial Design.
LS: Life Science.
MA: Mathematics.
ME: Mechanical Engineering.
MM: Metallurgical & Materials Engineering.
MN: Mining Engineering.
PA: Planning & Architecture.
PH: Physics and Astronomy.
SM: School of Management.

Duration

The internship duration is between May 16 to Jul 15, 2023. Biometric attendance on working days is compulsory. Extra leave is not applicable.

Important Note

Selection will be based on merit (CGPA), understanding of the topic (from the write-up), and fulfillment of technical prerequisites.
Higher-semester students may be given priority. A list of selected fellows and their supervisors will be announced on this website (http://eapplication.nitrkl.ac.in/internship) by Apr 11, 2023.
You can see your status under your login. If you are selected, you have to confirm your participation by intimating us online within a time frame, otherwise, the next person on the waiting list will be selected and your candidature will be canceled permanently.
And this cycle may continue 2-3 times. So, applicants will have to check the website at regular intervals for SIP-2023 updates.
The joining procedure will also be posted online on the website; no phone calls will be entertained.
Shortlisted candidates who have confirmed their participation are advised to bring hard copies of their qualification certificates, and recommendation forms along with the application form at the time of reporting.
