Applications are invited for the Semester Long Fossee Internship 2025 by IIT Bombay. The screening task submission deadline is January 27, 2025!

The FOSSEE (Free/Libre and Open Source Software for Education) project is dedicated to promoting the adoption of FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software) tools to enhance the quality of education in India. Its primary objective is to reduce reliance on proprietary software within educational institutions. Through a range of initiatives, FOSSEE encourages the use of FLOSS tools and aims to replace commercial software with open-source alternatives. The project also focuses on the development and enhancement of FLOSS tools to meet the specific needs of academia and research. FOSSEE is an initiative under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

FOSSEE invites applications for the Semester-long Internship 2025. The students get an opportunity to work with the FOSSEE team for one semester. This is a remote internship with continuous support and mentoring. To get shortlisted for the internship, Select a project and choose a screening task from the table given below. Then you need to complete at least one of the screening tasks. The selection will be purely based on the evaluation criteria of each screening task.

4. Create the UI of the Osdag web app using React and develop endpoints using Django/REST (Any stream)
5. Steel vs. Concrete Bridge Cost Comparison Software with SQLite and PyQt5 (Any stream)
6. Animation Development for Steel Connections in Osdag Using Blender or Other FLOSS Tools (Any stream)
7. Design a simple beam bridge, performing structural analysis, component design, and documentation using engineering tools, Python, and LaTeX. (Civil/Structural Engineering)
