Established in 2015, IIT Palakkad aims to foster innovation and academic excellence. Starting with 120 students, it has grown to nearly 1000, with plans to reach 5000 by its 10th year. The institute focuses on interdisciplinary research to contribute to India’s growth.
Located in scenic Palakkad, Kerala, IIT Palakkad’s Nila and Sahyadri campuses offer advanced academic, research, and hostel facilities. Nila features classrooms, labs, and innovation spaces, while Sahyadri includes a large academic block, specialized labs, and modern amenities. Well-connected by rail and air, IIT Palakkad is set for continued growth with skilled faculty and cutting-edge research infrastructure.
IIT Palakkad has a summer internship program which aims at introducing undergraduate and postgraduate students to research so as to enthuse them, and to get them interested in a career in teaching and research. This is a six-week long residential programme and it combines hands-on research training with a variety of hardware and software analysis tools.
Science, Engineering and Humanities: The programme is open to postgraduate students (including 4th and 5th year students of integrated master’s programmes) and those who are in the 3rd and 4th year of their four year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Sciences).
