Applications are invited for Post-Doctoral Fellowship Position at IIT Roorkee for the year 2023. The last date of application is 13 August.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for a post-doctoral position under the mentorship of Prof. Sugata Gangopadhyay (Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering) focused on “The Geometry of Quantum Information Divergences and Their Consequences in Statistical Learning”.
The prospective candidate is expected to have a strong background in the area of (a) Information Theory (specifically of information measures and divergences) (b) Statistical Learning (c) Knowledge of Quantum Computing etc. The candidate should have publications in peer reviewed journals. Apart from the research, the candidate may be entrusted with other academic responsibilities as deemed fit by the department.
Ph.D. in Computer Science / Statistics / Mathematics with specialization Information Theory and Knowledge in Quantum Computing.
The duration of fellowship will be 2 Years, extendable by one more year.
The fellowship amount is Rs. 55,000/- per month for first two years and Rs. 60,000/- per month for third year and a contingency amount of Rs. 50,000/- per year will be awarded to the Postdoctoral fellow (PDF).
The Screened candidates will be called for an interview. The tentative date for the interview is 21 August 2023.
