QA Developer at IBM Kochi, Kerala

Role

  • We are looking for a highly motivated Software Development Engineer in Test who is passionate about learning new things, and designing better ways to identify potential weak spots, inefficiencies, and issues within software systems.
  • The ideal candidate is well-versed in test automation, agile software development, and software testing methodologies.
  • This position will work closely with development teams and other test engineers in the implementation and delivery of software products that meet rigorous quality standards, budgets, and timelines.

  • As a member of the IBM Software Quality Engineering team, you will have responsibilities by close-teaming with other IT teams to deliver environments in an agile, consistent, repeatable and rapid manner.
  • Individual will play a central role by delivering quality functions for development teams supporting test driven development framework.
  • Scope will include Test Plan Development, Test Case Execution, Automation Testing, Data Creation, API Validation and incorporating test automation in the CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • As a DevOps Developer, you will contribute to thriving and growing services that belong to the IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog product and Match360/MDM portfolio.
  • You will work in a Kubernetes-based microservices environment to support our leading-edge cloud services.
  • This will include custom solutions, as well as open-source DevOps tools (build and deploy automation, monitoring
  • and data gathering for our software delivery pipeline).
  • You will also be contributing to our continuous improvement and continuous delivery while increasing the maturity of DevOps and agile adoption practices.

Technical Expertise

  • 1+ year experience in the following:
    • Basic understanding of automated quality engineering / software development / test automation.
    • Experience in UI automation with Cypress/ Selenium
    • Experience in JavaScript/ Java
    • Experience in using automated API testing tools like Postman, etc
    • Experience with shell/bash scripting and Linux/Unix command-line interface
    • Understanding of agile development, test management, continuous integration, continuous development environment (CICD) with tools such as: GitHub, JIRA, Jenkins etc.
    • Other Tools: ssh clients, docker.
  • Flexible and quick learner

Preferred Skill Sets

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and devise solutions
  • Ability to work Independently in a large matrix environment.
  • Experience in test design
