About Virtusa Engineering Excellence Scholarship

The Virtusa Engineering Excellence Scholarship 2024-25, introduced by the Virtusa Foundation, offers financial support to exceptional students from low-income backgrounds pursuing higher education. This scholarship program aligns with SDG4 (Quality Education) and SDG5 (Gender Equality), focusing on making education more accessible and promoting gender inclusivity. Eligible students in their 1st or 2nd year of B. Tech/BE programs across India, including those from 36 partner colleges within the Centre of Excellence, are provided with INR 50,000 to assist with their academic costs.

The Virtusa Foundation, a branch of Virtusa Corporation’s global CSR initiatives, champions causes in healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability. Through this scholarship, the foundation continues its commitment to supporting educational access for underprivileged students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to students in their 1st or 2nd year of B. Tech/BE courses across India.
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 70% marks in their 12th grade.
  • The applicant’s annual family income from all sources should be below INR 6,00,000.
  • Children of employees of Virtusa and Buddy4Study are not eligible to participate.

Benefits

  • INR 50,000 for 1 year
  • NOTE: This financial aid can be utilised only for various academic-related expenses, including exam fees, hostel fees, tuition fees, books, stationery, travel, data plans, laptop or tablet, food, and lodging.

Documents

  • Recent passport-sized photograph
  • School/ Course/ Institution admission proof (Admission Letter/ Institution ID Card, etc.)
  • Previous class/semester mark sheets
  • Payments receipts of educational expenses (tuition fees, hostel fees, books, mess fees, etc.) along with fee structure for the academic year)
  • A bonafide letter from the college stating the total fees/expenses incurred by the applicant in an academic year/ annual cycle
  • Proof of family income (ITR, salary slips, income certificate issued by concerned Government authority, etc.)
  • Proof of identity (PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, etc.)
  • Disability certificate issued by a concerned government authority (if applicable)
  • Death certificate of parent(s) (if applicable)
  • Bank Passbook
  • Ration card
