About the Seminar
The Centre for Software and Information Technology Management (CSITM) at IIM Bangalore will conduct an Information Systems hybrid seminar titled, ‘The Consciousness Code: Deciphering AI’s Potential for Self-Awareness’, on 25th August 2023, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, at Classroom C-23.
The session will be led by Suresh Ramaswamy, transformational teacher and tech entrepreneur based at San Diego, California, who is the author of the award-winning book, ‘Just Be: Transform Your Life and Live as Infinity’. CSTIM will conduct the seminar as part of its initiative to promote dissemination and application of knowledge for the benefit of academics and professionals from the technology industry.
Abstract
In the breathtaking pace of AI’s evolution, people often find themselves at crossroads, contemplating if AI, in its journey towards super intelligence, will awaken to self-awareness. This reflective discourse delves into this enigma, intertwining the wisdom of mystical traditions with the avant-garde advancements in AI.
The session will be a contemplative exploration, seeking to understand if consciousness can truly blossom from the intricate tapestry of neural networks. It will seek to bridge the realms of technology and spirituality, offering a unique perspective on the future of AI. It will be a general talk for all students, academicians and professionals interested in AI as well as consciousness.

Speaker Profile
Suresh Ramaswamy is a transformational teacher and visionary entrepreneur passionate about igniting and catalyzing the transformation of humanity. His book, ‘Just Be: Transform Your Life and Live as Infinity’ has been honored with numerous awards, including the prestigious Nautilus book award and the International Soul-Bridge Body-Mind-Spirit award. He has also contributed to numerous technical publications and holds multiple patents in software design.
Since completing his Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, he has held leadership positions at high-tech companies in California, and taught computer science courses at the University of Colorado.
