The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), an Institution of National Importance, is dedicated to advancing research, innovation, and education in forensic sciences and related fields. With a strong focus on fostering indigenous technology and aligning with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, NFSU plays a vital role in driving cutting-edge research and development. The university promotes innovation by connecting various sectors and creating solutions that cater to India’s evolving forensic and technological needs.
As part of this vision, NFSU is set to host the Forensic Hackathon on March 21, 2025. India, with its third-largest start-up ecosystem globally, is home to around 20,000 start-ups, including 4,750 technology-driven ones. This dynamic ecosystem is supported by various government initiatives like the Atal Innovation Mission, PM Research Fellowships, Start-up India Abhiyaan, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and the SAMRIDHI scheme, positioning India as a leader in innovation.
The Forensic Hackathon aims to inspire positive transformations in crime investigation practices by encouraging competition and collaboration among key stakeholders, including Central and State Forensic Science Laboratories, academic institutions, and industries involved in forensic tool development. By bringing together these diverse participants, the event seeks to generate innovative solutions and enhance the effectiveness of forensic science in addressing the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies and improving the criminal justice system.
