About Hack the Future 2025 Hackathon
Hack the Future 2025: Innovating Intelligent Data Insights is a 36-hour hackathon hosted by IIT Gandhinagar’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IIEC) and the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
This event invites students, developers, and researchers to unlock the power of public data, using AI and data science to solve real-world socio-economic issues. With mentorship, networking, and cash prizes up to ₹5.7 lakh, it’s your chance to drive societal impact!

- Application Period: February 7 – February 28, 2025
- Notification of Shortlisted: March 5th, 2025
- Orientation Session: March 10th, 2025
- Concept Note Submission: March 14th, 2025
- Hackathon & Pitching: March 21st-23rd, 2025

- Development of an AI/Ml-based predictive model for estimation of Monthly Per Capita Expenditure (MPCE)
- Development of Semantic Search from text to National Industrial Classification Code
- AI-based Legacy Data Extraction and Processing Tool

Hostel accommodation and meals
Free hostel accommodation will be provided from the evening of March 20 to the morning of March 24, 2025. Participants who wish to extend their stay beyond this period will need to bear the additional cost.
All Meals will be provided free of cost during the program, with venue details and meal arrangements shared with selected participants.
participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to IIT Gandhinagar. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
