NOTE:

  • OH – Orthopedically Handicapped; HH – Hard of Hearing/Hearing Impairment; VH – Low Vision/Visually Handicapped; LD – Learning Disabilities; MI – Mental Illness; MD – Multiple Disabilities; CP – Cerebral Palsy; Dw – Dwarfism.
  • Graduation should have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the University. Candidates who are going to complete the above course in the academic year 2022-23 are also eligible to apply, provided the final degree is available by 31.08.2023 and their aggregate is 65% marks or CGPA 6.84/10 (average of all semesters for which results are available).

Age Limit

28 years as of 14.06.2023. Serving Central Govt. employees, Ex-Servicemen; Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, are eligible for age relaxation as per Govt. of India orders.

Selection Process

Written Test

It will be conducted at eleven venues viz., Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. However, ISRO reserves the right to cancel/change the written test venue and re-allot the candidates to any other test center. The call letters for the written test will be sent only to the registered e-mail ID of the candidates.

The pattern of the Question Paper for the Written Test:

  • Single objective type paper consisting of two parts, viz. Part ‘A’ and Part ‘B’, with a duration of 120 minutes (with compensation time as applicable for PwBD candidates).
  • Part ‘A’ – Area/Discipline Specific part – Consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each (+1 and -1/3 pattern of marking).
  • Part ‘B’ – Aptitude/Ability Tests – Consists of a maximum of 15 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) totalling 20 marks (No negative marks). Questions will be based on Numerical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Diagrammatic Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, and Deductive Reasoning.

Interview

Based on the performance in the written test, candidates will be short-listed for Interviews in a ratio of 1:5, with an aggregate minimum of 10 candidates. For reserved vacancies, distinct/additional candidates will be short-listed in the ratio of 1:5 (maximum), without regard to the reserved candidates if any, short-listed under the UR category.

Qualifying Criteria

Unreserved candidates

  • 50% each in Parts ‘A’ & ‘B’.
  • 50/100 in Interview.
  • 60%in Aggregate.

Reserved candidates, only if a post is reserved

  • 40% each in Part A & B.
  • 40/100 in the Interview.
  • 50% in Aggregate.

Weightage in Panel Generation

For the generation of the final panel, 50% weightage will be given to Written Test marks and 50% weightage to Interview marks.

Pay and Allowances

Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of Pay Matrix and will be paid minimum basic pay of ₹.56,100/- p.m. In addition, Dearness Allowance [DA], House Rent Allowance [HRA], and Transport Allowance are payable as per extant rules on the subject. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme. Further, medical facilities for self and dependents, subsidized canteen, limited quarters facility (in lieu of HRA), Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, House Building Advance, etc. are admissible as per Central Government orders.

Application Fees

  • The Application Fee is Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only) for each application. Those candidates desirous to apply for multiple posts have to separately remit an application fee of Rs.250/-.
  • Candidates may make the payment ‘online’ using Internet Banking/Debit Card or ‘offline’ by visiting the nearest SBI Branch. Candidates after submitting their application can pay the application fee immediately or any day before the last date for fee payment which is 16.06.2023.
  • If a candidate desires to pay the application fee immediately then he/she on submitting the application will be shown a web page displaying the registration number. On the same web page, there exists a “Make Payment” button which the candidate may click and follow the payment process as outlined below.
  • If the candidate wants to pay the application fee later, then payment can be made any time before the closure of the advertisement by accessing the “Make Payment” link available on the advertisement page. Candidate has to provide Registration number, Date of Birth and later click on the “Make Payment” button and follow the payment process as outlined below.

  • Candidates may apply for multiple posts, subject to conditions. However, candidates applying for multiple posts should select common (same) written test centres.
  • Candidates have to make application fee payments separately for applications for all the posts. The application for online registration will be hosted on the ISRO website between 25.05.2023 and 14.06.2023.
  • Applications will be received online only. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an online Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference.
  • The E-mail ID of the applicant is to be given in the application compulsorily. The last date for submitting an online application is 14.06.2023.
