About Bunnyshell Stack Jam Hackathon

Join us for the Bunnyshell Stack Jam, where you can showcase your skills and share your stacks as reusable working environment templates with the tech community. Bunnyshell is an Environment as a Service (EaaS) platform that allows developers to create similar ephemeral environments production environments for development, testing, and preview. This simplifies the process of creating and managing environments, enabling developers to focus on directly productive activities such as coding and project design/architecture or invest more time in automated testing. Be part of this supportive and inclusive community and demonstrate your creative drive while contributing to the world’s first repository of pre-defined, working, and reusable environment templates. So, bring your stacks to life and make your mark on the future of software development.

Requirements

What to build

Develop an application (or leverage an existing one) and deploy it to Bunnyshell via an environment.
Craft a comprehensive Bunnyshell Template that includes environment configurations, variables, build parameters, and resource allocations.
Ensure the template encompasses the application’s source code or image, along with any necessary data for a seamless startup.
Build an environment featuring multiple interconnected components, including at least one backend/API and one database.
Make sure all components are linked and interact with others

What to Submit

Provide a thorough Template Description with clear instructions, detailing the benefits, environment structure, application usage, and any other pertinent information.
Host your templates on a public repository (e.g., GitHub, GitLab) with the tags bunny shell-hackathon and stack-jam.
Create a video (3-5 minutes) showcasing the application’s functionality. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook Video and made public.
Submit templates for review by June 12, 2023, to be eligible for prizes.

We’re looking for templates that will cater to a wide range of users, enabling them to jumpstart their development projects on Bunnyshell quickly and efficiently. Focus on popular platforms/frameworks and create a best-practice-driven environment.
Versatility (Extensibility + Customizability)
How well the template serves as a foundation for further development + customization, either through environment variables or build arguments.
Build Efficiency (Size and Speed)
Minimize build time and container image size for optimal performance.
Documentation
Clarity and comprehensiveness of the description, enable users to understand the application’s purpose and usage.
