About DeveloperWeek 2025

DeveloperWeek 2025, taking place in the San Francisco Bay Area (Feb 11-13) and online (Feb 18-20), is the largest developer conference, drawing 8,000+ professionals from over 70 countries. It includes the DeveloperWeek Conference & Expo, a 1,000+ attendee hackathon, a tech hiring expo, workshops, technical talks, and keynotes. The event covers cutting-edge technologies such as AI, VR, Blockchain, IoT, Serverless, and more. Highlights include the expanded DevExec World for tech executives, along with co-located events ProductWorld and AI DevWorld. Past participants include Google, Facebook, IBM, and Microsoft.

DeveloperWeek Hackathon 2025

Hackathon Rules

  • Teams should build apps from scratch (Mobile App / Consumer Web App / Business Web App). Teams can solve as many “Challenges” as desired (zero, one, or multiple). Challenges are listed here!
  • Teams must be between 1 – 5 members. Teams with over 5 members are not eligible to win anything.
  • Participants are encouraged to form teams prior to the start of the Hackathon. Participants, from their DevPost accounts, may “Look for Teammates”.
  • Hackathon Workshops & Kickoff Talks will take place Wednesday, February 12 from 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM PST.
  • All “Challenges” are hosted by sponsors. The sponsors will choose their own prize and choose their own prize winners at the conclusion of the hackathon. Read this sheet to understand how sponsors judge.
  • To be considered for the Overall Winner – teams must submit their projects by Thursday, February 13 at 10:00 AM PST. No late projects will be accepted.
  • Once your project team sits at a table, DO NOT change tables. The table number taped down will be assigned to you for the Overall Judging – Round 1.
  • There will be two rounds of judging on Wednesday. During the Overall Judging- Round 1 (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (PT) ), Overall Round Judges will review your projects and fill out a score card. The Sponsor Round – Round 2 (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (PT)) Judges will review your projects and fill out a score card.
    • Overall Judges (Round 1) will evaluate you based on:
    • Progress How much progress did you make?
    • Concept Does it solve a real problem?
  • Feasibility Could this become a startup or company?
  • The Top 5 project teams (as decided by the Overall Judges – Round 1) will pitch on the Main Stage to all attendees. You will be notified via phone call at 1:00 PM if you are selected in the Top 5 and must be onsite at 3:00pm, for the 3:30PM Top 5 Demo & Q&A
  • Sponsors are responsible for delivering their prizes to winners (usually immediately after). If needed, we will provide sponsors team contact information. Sponsor & Overall winners are announced at 3:30 PM on Thursday

  • Thursday, February 13, 2025: 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM PT | Overall and Sponsor Winners Announced via DeveloperWeek Main Stage.
