Online registrations are invited for the IEEE CIS Sponsored Summer School on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at MNIT, Jaipur. The last date for registration is August 15, 2025.

About IEEE CIS

The IEEE CIS Summer Schools are designed for senior undergraduate, graduate students, post-doc and young researchers willing to deepen their skills in computational intelligence and related areas. The objective is to stimulate them to involve in rapidly evolving fields and to foster participation in the adventure of research. The IEEE CIS Summer Schools are held not only in summer but all year around. The length of each summer school is expected to last from 3 days to 1 week.

Summer Schools usually include lectures, seminars, discussions, and visits to local academic organizations or industries. Lectures will be given by international scholars working in computational intelligence and interdisciplinary areas from fundamental theory to applications. The participants will be given a chance to meet peer researchers, international scholars (especially young scientists), to discuss hot topics and on-going research, and also to experience local industry and culture,

About MNIT

The Institute was jointly established in 1963 as Malaviya Regional Engineering College Jaipur by the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. Subsequently, on 26 June 2002, the college was given the status of National Institute of Technology. On 15 August 2007, it was recognized as the Institute of National Importance through an Act of Parliament. The Institute is fully funded by the Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya), Government of India.

IEEE CIS Sponsored Summer School on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at MNIT

Objectives of IEEE CIS Summer School at MNIT Jaipur

  • This IEEE CIS summer school aims to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of advanced Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Machine Learning(ML) for participants through exercises, project-based learning and industry-specific problem-solving.
  • It will present an opportunity for young scholars to think, innovate, design and create new solutions to Engineering and Social Science problems.
  • It will assist them in comprehending the real-world applications of these technologies (AI & ML), which can be used to address issues including climate change, insufficient healthcare, and poverty, education among others.
  • AI is playing a major role in the fourth industrial revolution and a lot of evolution in various ML
    methodologies have been observed.
  • AI techniques are widely used by practising engineers to solve a whole range of hitherto intractable problems.
  • Advances in AI, particularly large language models (LLMs), are substantially affecting social science research.
  • These ML models pertained to vast amounts of text data and are increasingly capable of simulating human-like responses and behaviours, offering opportunities to test theories and hypotheses about human behaviour at great scale and speed.
  • This school will feature both Keynote and Invited Speakers (Including Women in Engineering) from Academia and Industry.
  • A panel discussion with experts to solve the doubts and throw light on the current issues related to AI/ML research will be held.
  • The hands-on laboratory is also spread over one day.
  • An add-on event “Hackathon” with the Industries to provide an opportunity for participants to develop a solution on their own is also planned.
  • Winners of the Hackathon will get the Prizes and Certificates.
  • The Hackathon is conceived to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualize ideas and frameworks using AI, Deep Learning, ML, etc.
  • This event is going to be conducted in physical mode in two phases viz.
  • Initial Phase/Idea screening round and Grand Finale round. In the Initial round, the submitted ideas will be thoroughly screened and scrutinized and the selected ones will be moved to the Grand Finale, which will be held physically at MNIT Jaipur on 7th September 2023.
  • The best ideas will be declared winners.
