About the Hackathon

Hackathon Under Information Security Education Awareness (ISEA) on theme Mobile Device and Application Security at IIT Jammu. The main objective is to identify Talent, Innovative Ideas and Technological Solutions and to establish linkages with Individuals, Industry, Start-ups and Educational Institutions.

About the Project

Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) is an initiative of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India for generating human resources in the area of Information Security and creating general awareness on Cyber Hygiene/Cyber Security among the masses.

Eligibility

  • Open to students, professionals, and cybersecurity enthusiasts.
  • Participants can register individually or in teams (2-5 members).
  • Participants must be 18 years or older (or provide parental consent if younger).
  • Multiple team registrations from the same organization/university are allowed.

  • Mobile-to-LoRa Communication Without a SIM Card
  • Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) Mobile App
  • Unveiling Vulnerabilities in Google Approved Apps
  • Fraud and Phishing Detection Mobile Application
  • Secure Military Messaging App with End-to-End Encryption & Self-Destructing Messages
  • Open- Source Debugging Tool for Android Apps

Structure

The hackathon will be conducted over a period of 5 months with three rounds of evaluation.

  • Phase 1: Registration – Call for participation through portal.
  • Phase 2: Evaluation 1 – Presentation for Shortlisting top 40-50 teams based on innovation and feasibility of solutions. (Online)
  • Phase 3: Prototype Development Evaluation 2 – Teams develop prototypes with mentorship support. Mid-term evaluation shortlists top 20-30 teams. (Online) (Presentations and DEMO)
  • Phase 4: Final Evaluation & Presentation – Finalists present working solutions before a panel of judges, which undergoes continuous evaluation. Winners are selected. (IIT Jammu) (20-30 Teams)
