About FOSSEE

The FOSSEE (Free/Libre and Open Source Software for Education) project promotes the use of FLOSS tools in academia and research. The FOSSEE project is part of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

About IIT Bombay

Founded in 1958, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is a public research university and technical institute in Powai, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. IIT Bombay is the topmost preferred choice for Indian students in STEM fields such as computer science and engineering.

About the Hackathon

This hackathon is a platform for the CFD-OpenFOAM community to show their skills in OpenFOAM. Participants are expected to upgrade solved Case Studies to the latest versions of OpenFOAM according to the standards of OpenFOAM.

The list of solved Case Studies will be released along with the Problem Statement Announcement. The OpenFOAM Hackathon is organized by the FOSSEE project, IIT Bombay. FOSSEE (Free and Open Source Software for Education) trains and promotes the use of Free/Libre Open Source Software.

This project is a part of the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) funded by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

Eligibility Criteria

It is open to Students, Faculty & Corporate Professionals.
