About NIT Calicut

National Institute of Technology Calicut is one of the premier technical institutions in India. It is set in a picturesque landscape at the foothills of the Western Ghats, located on the Calicut- Mukkam road, about 22km from Calicut City. The institute offers nine undergraduate and twenty postgraduate programmes apart from the PhD programme under different departments. The institute has good computing and information technology infrastructure, laboratories, and a hi-tech Nalanda digital library.

Description

• The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) invites applications for the engagement of Diploma Apprentice Trainees across various disciplines under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961, and its subsequent amendments.
• This initiative aligns with the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), a flagship program of the Government of India aimed at empowering Indian youth with industry relevant skills in trade disciplines.
• The scheme provides practical, hands-on, On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities for Graduate, Diploma, and Vocational Certificate holders, with training durations ranging from 6 months to 1 year.
• At NIT Calicut, the apprenticeship program will span 6 months for diploma holders, offering a comprehensive learning experience. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹8,000/- during the training period

How to Apply?

• Eligible candidates have to duly fill all the details in the Application form along with the proof of qualification and age to the email id: nats@nitc.ac.in before the deadline (24-01-2025)
• The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of information, other documents and
  photographs submitted.
• The Institute reserves the right to relax qualification and experience for the candidates with
  exceptional credentials.
• Applicants who are already in employment (government or any other organization) are required
  to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the time of interview along with the
  above mentioned documents
• The decision of the selection committee is final. Canvassing in any form leads to the rejection of the candidature.
• Selected candidate will not be permitted to claim any regular/ part-time appointments in this
  institute or any other during this period. However, the selected candidate may be allowed to join
  PhD program under project category as per the Institute’s norms.
• The institute reserves the right not to fill up the posts, cancel the advertisement in whole or in
  part, without assigning any reason and the decision of the Administration of NIT Calicut, in this
  regard shall be final.

Salary

• At NIT Calicut, the apprenticeship program will span 6 months for diploma holders, offering a comprehensive learning experience. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹8,000/- during the training period
