As a Security Operation Center Intern, you will collaborate closely with SOC teams to gain insights into how Microsoft’s cybersecurity team addresses threats in real time. You will work alongside experienced analysts who will guide you through our critical operations and provide a foundation for developing cybersecurity projects that enhance your learning.
This internship offers the chance to experience real-world cybersecurity incidents and explore advanced technologies like Co-Pilot (AI/ML), equipping you with tools to accelerate your career in cybersecurity. Interns are expected to work from the Microsoft Hyderabad facility, with work-from-home flexibility provided as needed.
As a Security Analyst Intern, you will execute security controls, defences, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce, and web-based systems.

Responsibilities
- The research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems’ security and determine the next steps, including potential escalations.
- Develop and implement automation of security processes and procedures where possible and translate security policy into adequate controls.
- Respond to security incidents, conduct threat intelligence and analysis, and use data analytics to drive security decisions.
- Conduct and support red/purple team operations or improve security posture.
- They maintain hardware, software, network firewalls, and encryption protocols and administer security policies to control system access.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
- Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship
Preferred Qualifications
Basic Cyber Security certifications with Python and other programming languages.
