About IIT Dhanbad
Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (abbreviated IIT (ISM), Dhanbad) is a public technical university located in Dhanbad, India. Formerly known as the Indian School of Mines opened on 9th December 1926 by Lord Irwin, the then Viceroy of India, to address the need for trained manpower related to mining activities in the country with disciplines of Mining and Applied Geology.
In 1967, the status of a deemed-to-be university was granted under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Since its establishment, IIT(ISM) has undergone considerable expansion of its activities, and presently it can be considered a total technology education institute

Maximum two months (or minimum one month)
Assessment and Certificate
After completing the internship, interns must give an end-term presentation in front of the review committee. The internship guide must send the recommendation of the review committee and the student attendance to the Office of the Dean (R&D) through the e-office for issuing the internship certificate.
Review Committee
Head of the Department/Centre, Internship Guide, DUGC Convener. Accommodation: Based on availability.
Project-funded Interns will be paid a scholarship (if available) according to the terms and conditions of the funding agency.
Institute-funded Interns will be paid a scholarship of Rs. 5,000/—per month for a maximum of two months.
Category-III: Long-Term Research Internship Scheme (For BTech/MTech/MSc/MBA)

Duration
6-12 months
Onetime Internship Fee
Tuition fees (on actual) per semester will have to be paid on joining.
Assessment and certificates
Long-term interns are required to give a mid-term presentation, preferably after 2 months of joining a review committee. The review committee will give feedback and suggest possible improvements in the work. At the end of the scheme, all the interns must present a presentation of the work carried out to the review committee.
The recommendation of the review committee, a copy of the internship report, and the student attendance need to be sent to the Dean (R&D) office by the internship guide through the e-office for issuing the internship certificate.

Accommodation
- Based on availability.
- NOC from the parent institute is needed for the Long-term Research Internship.
