Job Description
Central to our mission is a highly programmable data processing chip (DPU). As a digital ASIC designer, you will be responsible for all aspects of digital SoC design, focusing on micro-architecture, RTL, verification, logic synthesis, and timing analysis to deliver a design meeting target power, performance and area goals.
Responsibilities
Design
- Researches new tools, technologies, or methods for project implementation and provides recommendations to project team members as to which tool is appropriate.
- Gathers information and participates in make-versus-buy decisions based on complexity, financial impact, quality, reliability, and time duration.
- Displays knowledge in a specific engineering domain and acquires advanced knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, customer experience, and advances in various engineering fields. Shares knowledge with others on their team.
- Creates designs and verification plans for the hardware engineering aspects of moderately complex and defined products or features.
- Participates in creating intellectual property. May file patents within own area of scope and completes necessary patent documentation.
- Implements or recommends technical solutions to moderately complex quality and design challenges, and guides other team members.
- Uses performance instrumentation and presents results to team and architects. Writes a component of performance simulators and creates spreadsheets to derive microarchitecture trade-offs.
- Evaluates the impact of software optimizations.
Project Implementation
- Contributes input to a single project implementation schedule to deliver the hardware engineering aspects of a moderately complex feature or product.
- Escalates issues to management as necessary.
Reviews third-party intellectual property data sheets against requirements. - Makes external supplier or partner recommendations in support of product development.
- Review available external suppliers or partner products to make external supplier or partner recommendations in support of product development.
- Identifies common project risks (e.g., external supplier or partner delays, incomplete specs, or tool issues) at the outset of a project, and develops plans to address those risks.
- Communicates project progress/status within the project team (e.g., to customers and partners) and escalates issues as necessary.
Reporting and Documentation
- Develops training materials, documents, and templates. Delivers training for a single product.
Reads and contributes to writing device specification sheets; interprets complex details required to design various hardware features.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years of related technical engineering experience
- OR Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience or internship experience
- OR Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience or internship experience.
