Job Description
As a Data Architect at Mckinsey, you will be responsible for robust data storage and access solutions to enable secure and responsive data consumption. Your solutions will be used to connect legacy, newly developed, and vendor applications across the data centre and cloud environments, and you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the solutions.
- You will develop specifications, design infrastructure and interfaces, and develop code. 80% of your time will be spent on hands-on coding.
- You will be responsible for the development, support, maintenance, and implementation of an enterprise application that is scalable, resilient, and distributed.
- More senior engineers will also coach and mentor other team members.
- You will work with different services of AWS, snowflake and traditional RDBMS, implementing the best security features and practices in the cloud.
- In addition, you will be responsible for the ETL flows, data modelling and supporting all data consumption use cases.

- You will join our Bangalore or Chennai office as part of our Visual Graphics & Media (VG&M) transformation group.
- You will work with product managers, software engineers, architects, and various platform teams.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors/master’s degree in a technology-related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering with hands-on experience building data warehouses and managing complex ETL pipelines.
- Strong DevOps automation experience, including setup and configuration of CI/CD pipelines and surrounding ecosystem.
- Familiarity with various cloud data technologies such as Snowflake and AWS (Glue, Athena, RDS, Redshift)
- Experience in all facets of software development life cycle like analysis, design, development, data conversion, data security, system integration and implementation.
- Strong experience in data architecture, data modeling and adopting best practices and policies in the data management space.
- Experience leading and delivering data-centric projects with a concentration on data quality and adherence to data standards and best practices.
- Familiarity in building and coding applications using Python, Spark, Kafka, Storm, HDFS, Hbase, Hive, etc.
- Understanding of data visualization and other consumption patterns like Tableau dashboards, PowerBI, and ML models use-cases.
- Coding ability in the field of large data handling through SQL and NoSQL databases, data manipulation and ETL tools.
