About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering Linux solutions on our Industrial client product portfolio (Desktop, Notebook, Workstation and so on).
You will collaborate with colleagues throughout Dell to deliver products to position Dell as a leader in this space.
Meanwhile, the successful candidate will collaborate with technical providers to drive the resolution of issues and influence new feature improvements.
Roles & Responsibilities
You will:
- Define and evaluate the features and requirements for Linux solutions for next-gen products.
- Work with internal and external teams to design and develop the prototype as proof of concept and figure out an end-to-end implementation plan.
- Debug the relevant issues and drive for issue closure with internal/external partners to support the product’s on-time launching.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, EE or equivalent with 5-8 years of industry experience working with Linux OS, device drivers or related system technologies.
- Working knowledge of Linux and solid experience in Linux user space, kernel or driver development with Python or C/C++.
- Demonstrates proficient knowledge and utilization of engineering tools necessary for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and deliver under pressure and tight schedules. Demonstrated ability to write and oral interpersonal skills in English.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in Open Source contributions, especially some mainstream projects, such as Linux kernel, Gnome and etc.
- Good vendor management with proven leadership and strong communication.
Salary
The estimated total pay range for a Senior Software Engineer at Dell Technologies is ₹15.8L – ₹24.9L per year, which includes base salary and additional pay. The average Senior Software Engineer base salary at Dell Technologies is ₹18.9L per year. The average additional pay is ₹2L per year, which could include cash bonus, stock, commission, profit sharing or tips.
