Must have the ability to defend the network. Tasks include monitoring, discovering, and analyzing possible threats.
Must know how to detect threats and report vulnerabilities and ensures the organization remains protected from attacks. Should know how to perform perpetration testing for systems, web applications, and networks to find vulnerabilities.
Must be able to manage several effects of breaches in a manner that reduces the impact of breaches.
Must be familiar with collecting, analyzing, and reporting security data.
Reviews trouble tickets generated by Tier 1 Analyst(s) and ensure that level 1 event(s) are addressed in a timely manner using available reporting and metrics.
Must be able to read and understand the operation and performance parameters of software programs, and at a higher level of skill, should be able to reverse-engineer malware. Accepting and logging user calls related to the IT Infrastructure, applications and network connectivity.
Serve as detection authority for initial incident declaration and Serve as a backup analyst for any potential coverage gaps to ensure business continuity.
Reviews and collects asset data (configs, running processes, etc.) on these systems for further investigation.
Defines and executes on strategy for containment, remediation, and recovery.
Validate patching procedures and other security controls by running network, system and security vulnerability scans.

Monitor the security access and report probable cyberattacks to a superior employee in the company
Perform risk analysis and security operations to find any vulnerability that can have an impact on the company
Find security breaches, along with their root cause
Create reports that will allow experts to make changes in the security policies as per the needs of the organization
Come up with improvement strategies for better company security
Update the company’s security systems regularly to avoid any cyberattack.
