About IIT Goa
Indian Institute of Technology Goa (IIT Goa) is an autonomous public university located in Goa. Ever since an IIT was allotted to Goa by the Central government in 2014, the new Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Goa started functioning in July, 2016 in a temporary campus housed at Goa Engineering College (GEC) Campus located at Farmagudi, Goa.
Fellowship Overview
Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow to work under the project titled “Formal verification of adaptive control algorithms” in the School of Mathematics & Computer Science, IIT Goa. The posts are for a project funded by the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA).

Duration of Appointment
One year JRF position, with the option to extend further or option to enrol for a PhD position.
Eligibility
- B. Tech or MSc in CSE, Mathematics or relevant areas + qualified a national levels examination like GATE, JEST etc. or, MTech in CSE, Mathematics or relevant areas
- Applicant should also have an interest in discrete mathematics, algorithms, automata theory, machine learning, and programming.
Salary
- Position 1: Three years in LABRI, Bordeaux, France (1500 euro/month) and remaining years in IIT Goa (35,000 / month from 3rd year onwards).
- Position 2: At IIT Goa (31,000/month for first 2 years, and 35,000 / month from 3rd year onwards). Support includes doing research in LABRI, France for a few months.
Selection process
The selection process is through online tests and interviews. The candidates are expected to show strong proficiency in one of the following areas:
- Basic mathematics: Discrete mathematics, probability, linear algebra, calculus
- Computer science fundamentals: Data structures, algorithms, programming, automata theory, machine learning
