Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad is an autonomous engineering and technology institute in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. IIT Dharwad started functioning from July 2016 in a temporary campus, previously of the Water and Land Management Institute in Belur Industrial Area, on the outskirts of Dharwad city.
Job Description
- Maintenance and Administration of the campus network
- LAN, WiFi (Cisco/ Mojo).
- L2 and L3 switch (Extreme) configuration and maintenance
- Administration of DHCP, DNS servers.
- Troubleshooting problems
- Liasoning with ISPs
- Continuous monitoring and quick recovery
- Maintenance and Administration of the servers
- Computer servers — load maintenance, VM migrations
- Storage server
- UPS and cooling
- Liasoning with warranty provider
- Administration of essential services
- LDAP
- Local cloud (owncloud)
- FTP, NTP, gitea
- Maintenance and installation of hardware
- Setting up of switches, desktops, OS installation, driver installation, printers, UPS
- Maintenance
- Liasoning with warranty providers
- Procurement
- Tendering process for procurement of different goods and services
- Inventory management
- Conducting experiments and designing and implementing improvements to the system

Essential Qualification
- B.Sc / B.C.A. / B.Tech / M.C.A
- If B.Sc./B.Tech., Degree in Computer Science is preferable.
- (Those graduating in summer 2022 may apply as well)
Desirable Experience
- Linux system administration
- Configuring and maintaining servers: DNS, LDAP, Kerberos, web, storage, application, software license, among others
- Configuring and troubleshooting network issues — both wired and wireless. (see duty list below)
Consolidated Emoluments
₹15,000 per month
Tenure of appointment
The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 03 (three) months, which can be further extended subject to satisfactory performance and requirement in the Institute.
Date & Schedule
- Rolling selections. Applications will be processed from time to time until the positions are filled.
- Date and Time-slots will be communicated through email. Any change in the schedule will be notified on the IIT Dharwad website.
