About
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal (IISER-B or IISER–Bhopal) is an autonomous research institute in Bhauri, Bhopal district, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established by the Ministry of Education (India), Government of India in 2008 in order to incorporate research in fundamental science at undergraduate and graduate levels, with equal emphasis on higher education for research and education in science.
The institute is inviting applications for the post of Project Associate -1 in a research project titled – “The detailed fault zone architecture of the Geil-Khola fault, frontal Darjiling Himalaya” funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MOES).
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be involved full-time in collecting, processing, and analysis of structural and geological data, preparation of thin-sections and microstructural analysis, strain quantification, and preparing maps using the ARC-GIS platform.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s M.Sc./M.Tech. degree in Geology/Earth Sciences from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 60% aggregate or CGPA/CPI of 7.0 and above on a 10-point scale.
- The candidate must have Geology and any two from Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry as minors in B.Sc.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Field and data processing knowledge in Structural Geology.
- Experience in working with Matlab/Python programming and ARC-GIS.
Duration
1 year.
Fellowship
Rs.25,000 + HRA (as applicable).
