Applications are invited for the post of Post-Doctoral Research Associate to support the activities of the Centre for Strategic & Sustainable Infrastructure. He/ She would be expected to work on the projects in the area of steel alloy development.
About IIT Jammu
The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu was inaugurated on 6th August 2016, and welcomed the first batch of students into the campus in Paloura, Jammu. In the initial phases, the establishment of IIT Jammu was done under the mentorship of IIT Delhi.
In 2018, IIT Jammu shifted the primary operations to the Main Campus in Jagti, Nagrota. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has provided land for the establishment of a permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Technology in Jammu, which consists of 400 acres. Currently the Phase 1 A of the main campus, spread across 25 acres, is operational. Phase 1 B and 1 C are undergoing construction.
Eligibility
- Qualification: B.Tech in Mechanical/ Materials/ Metallurgical Engineering and Ph.D. in Materials/ Metallurgical Engineering.
- Desirable: Candidates having research experience and exposure in steel alloy development would be preferred.
- Upper Age limit: 40 Years
Duration
One year (The term may be extended further based the performance of the candidate).

Shortlisted candidates would be required to attend the interview in person at IIT Jammu. Candidates who are already employed should produce a relieving certificate from their employers, if selected.
Job Description
The selected candidate would support the activities of the Centre for Strategic and Sustainable Infrastructure. He/she would be expected to work on the projects in the area of steel alloy development and supervise research assistants/interns working at the Centre.
