Founded in 2016, Carnegie India, based in New Delhi, is part of a robust global network that includes over 150 scholars in Asia, Beirut, Brussels, and Washington. The centre focuses primarily on three interrelated programs: technology and society, political economy, and security studies. Internship at Carnegie India
- Carnegie India offers three- to twelve-month internships to support the centre’s scholars and programs. Interns are an integral part of Carnegie’s growing global network.
- Interns are provided with a stipend. Carnegie India is not able to provide information on possible external sources of funding or provide assistance for visa-related matters.
- Applicants are advised to check with their academic institutions for information about available sources of internship funding.

- Be a recent graduate
- Have an excellent verbal and written command of English
Application Process
- The application process is competitive.
- Applications will be judged on past academic performance, relevant academic study, and work experience.

- A one-page cover letter clearly stating the desired position, as well as relevant experience and skills. The cover letter must indicate the period of availability.
- A one-page resume.
- A writing sample of no longer than 800 words.
Role and Responsibilities
- Carnegie India is seeking a program and research intern, with a background in foreign policy, security or international relations to work for a period of four-six months starting 1 September, 2023.
- The intern will primarily be responsible for supporting Carnegie India’s flagship event, Global Technology Summit 2023.
- The Global Technology Summit (GTS) brings together industry experts, policymakers, scientists, and other stakeholders from all over the world (in-person/virtual) to deliberate on the changing nature of technology and geopolitics.
- The intern will also be responsible for assisting with the Security Studies Dialogue.
- The dialogue brings together representatives from Government, academia, and industry to address India’s response to evolving challenges.
- The intern may be assigned administrative, editorial, research, coordination, writing or organizational tasks to provide overall support to the summit, the dialogue as well as Carnegie India’s Security Studies program.
- The intern may also assist scholars on ongoing projects, background research, and other events.
Required Skill Sets
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Strong interest in international relations, security, and foreign policy.
- Possess the flexibility and enthusiasm to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate with the various team.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team to solve problems and complete tasks in a diligent manner.
