About Recruitment
The Indian Army is the land-based branch and largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Army, and its professional head is the Chief of Army Staff. Applications are invited from eligible unmarried Male and unmarried Female Engineering Graduates and also from Widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who died in harness for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army. The course will commence in April 2025 at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA).

Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of the Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply.
- Candidates studying in the final year of the engineering degree course should be able to submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination along with mark sheets of all semesters/years by 01 April 2025 and produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks of training at Pre-
Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA). - Such candidates will be inducted on an additional bond basis to recover the cost of training at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA) as notified from time to time, as well as the stipend and pay and allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate.
Age Limit and Nationality
- For SSC(Tech)- 64 Men and SSCW(Tech)- 35 Women: 20 to 27 years as of 01 APR 2025 (Candidates born between 02 Apr 1998 and 01 Apr 2005, both days inclusive).
- For Widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who Died in Harness Only: SSCW (Non-Tech) [Non-UPSC] and SSCW(Tech)- A maximum of 35 years of age as of 01 APR 2025.
- A candidate must either be :
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India permanently, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (1) and (2) above shall be a person in whose favour Government of India has issued a certificate of eligibility.
- However, a certificate of eligibility will not be necessary for candidates who are Nepalese Gorkha subjects.

Application Process
- Applications will only be accepted online on the website.
- Click ‘Officer Entry Appln/Login’ and then click ‘Registration’ (Registration is not required if you have already registered).
- Fill out the online registration form carefully after reading the instructions.
- After registering, click on ‘Apply Online’ under Dashboard.
- A page ‘Officers Selection — ‘Eligibility’ will open.
- Then click ‘Apply’ shown against the Short Service Commission Technical Course. A page of ‘Application Form’ will open.
- Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill in details as required under various segments, such as personal information, communication details, education details, and details of previous SSB. ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment.
- After filling in the details on the last segment, you will move to a page, ‘Summary of your information’, wherein you can check and edit the entries already made. Only after ascertaining the correctness of all your details, click on ‘Submit’.
- Candidates must click on ‘Submit’ each time they open the editing application.
- Aadhaar and matriculation certificate are mandatory for registration.
