Responsibilities
The Analytics and Innovation (Ai) team at United Airlines is dedicated to driving innovation, transformation, and solving complex business challenges, resulting in significant, measurable impacts on the enterprise. This is achieved through a combination of deep cross-functional business expertise and advanced analytics.
The team collaborates with various business and technology partners across the organization, including areas such as Airport Operations, Contact Centers, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Digital Products, and Human Resources, to influence strategic decisions, shape enterprise strategy, streamline business processes, and connect the dots across the company. The goal is to be an organization that fosters a collaborative and enjoyable working environment for all.
Currently, the team is seeking an analytics intern with a passion for data and analytics and a keen interest in delving into the details. The intern will be responsible for translating data findings into actionable insights and recommendations for business stakeholders, as well as contributing to the development of smart, innovative solutions across various United departments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Executing solutions to business challenges using data analysis, data mining, report generation, and statistical modeling.
- Creating and developing reports and dashboards for United leadership and external stakeholders.
- Structuring and effectively communicating insights from workstreams, delivering clear and professional presentations to team members and project managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3rd / 4th Year Graduate Students
- (having availability to work on 6-month internship)
- Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
- Advanced level comfort with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint
- Ability to manipulate and analyze complex data to highlight patterns and relationships
- Experience in using database querying tools and able to write queries using Teradata SQL and/or Microsoft TSQL
- Familiarity with one or more reporting tools – Spotfire / Tableau / Power BI
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork
- Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
- Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics
- Proficiency in Programming Languages (Python / R / Pyspark)
