About IIT Guwahati
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. At present the Institute has eleven departments, seven inter-disciplinary academic centres and five schools covering all the major engineering , science, healthcare, management and humanities disciplines, offering B.Tech., B.Des., M.A., M.Des., M.Tech., M.Sc., MBA and Ph.D. programmes.
Within a short period of time, IIT Guwahati has been able to build up world class infrastructure for carrying out advanced research and has been equipped with state-of-the-art scientific and engineering instruments. Besides its laurels in teaching and research, IIT Guwahati has been able to fulfil the aspirations of people of the North East region to a great extent since its inception in 1994.
Eligibility
- Preferably the applicant has to complete three years, i.e., six semesters in the B.Tech. / B.E. Computer Science program by the summer of 2025.
- Candidates applying for Summer Internship have to be Indian nationals.
- There is no eligibility criterion, in terms of CGPA.

- Deadline for online applications: 15th March, 2025
- Duration of the Summer Internship: 8th May 2025 to 10th July 2025
No. of intake
Usually, upto 3 students can intern under a faculty member.

Fee & Stipend
- No fee is charged from the Intern for the Summer Internship.
- This time no stipend will be provides to interns.
Additional Information
- Check the cse faculty website here for the faculty members willing to take interns and their area of interest.
- Selection of Summer Intern is entirely upto the respecitve faculty member(s).
- On completion of the Internship, certificate is issued by the CSE Department, not IIT Guwahati.
- Accommodation and mess facility will be provided by IIT Guwahti with nominal charge (this is subject to accomodation availability at the time of selection). Information regarding this will be made available on this website.
