AICTE PRAGATI Scholarship Scheme 2023 is an MHRD Scheme being implemented by AICTE aimed at providing assistance for the Advancement of Girls pursuing Technical Education.

About AICTE PRAGATI Scholarship Scheme

To give consolation and support to Girl Children to study technical education “Pragati Scholarship” has been propelled by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) from the year 2014-15 and executed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Education is one of the most important means of empowering women with the knowledge, skill and self-confidence necessary to participate fully in the development process. This is an attempt to give young women the opportunity to further their education and prepare for a successful future by “Empowering Women through Technical Education”

Salient Feature of the PRAGATI Scholarship Scheme

  • Total Number of Scholarship-4000 per Annum ( 2000 for Degree and 2000 for Diploma)
  • ‘One Girl’ per family and it can be extended to Two Girl Children per family where the family income is less than Rs. 8 Lakh /annum (In the case of the married girl child, the income of parents/in-laws whichever is higher is to be considered).
  • The candidates will be selected on Merit at the qualifying examination to pursue technical education from amongst such candidates.
  • The candidates should have been admitted to 1st year of the Degree or Diploma programme in any of the AICTE-approved institutes during the current Academic Year through the centralized admission process of the State/ Centre Government.
  • Amount of scholarship: Tuition Fee of Rs. 30000/– or at actual, whichever is less and Rs. 2000/- per month for 10 months as incidentals each year.
  • In case of candidates availing Tuition fee waiver/reimbursement, an amount of Rs. 30000/- may be reimbursed to the candidates selected for this scheme by the way of reimbursement for
    • Purchase of books,
    • Purchase of equipment, software
    • Purchase of Laptops.
    • Purchase of Desktops
    • Purchase of Vehicle
    • Fees paid towards competitive examination application forms/exam fees for all examinations related to higher education/employment.
  • Reservation-15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC candidate/applicant.
  • Out of the total number of scholarships in each scheme, 50% of scholarships are available at each Degree /Diploma level and also transferable in the event of the non-availability of eligible applicants in any of the Degree/ Diploma level programmes.

Required Documents

  1. Mark Sheet of standard Xth /XIIth / others as applicable.
  2. Annual family Income Certificate for the preceding financial year in the prescribed
    format issued by those not below the rank of Tahsildar.
  3. Admission letter issued by the Directorate of Technical Education for the admission in
    Diploma/Degree course.
  4. Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/ Head of the Institute.
  5. Tuition fee receipt.
  6. AADHAR seeded Bank Pass Book in the name of the student indicating the Account
    number, IFSC code and Photograph
  7. Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC category.
  8. AADHAR Card
  9. Declaration by parents duly signed stating that the information provided by their child is correct and will refund the Scholarship amount if found false at any stage.
