About ONGC Sports Scholarship
The ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation)Sports Scholarship Scheme 2023–24 is a chance for rising young excellent athletes who have the potential to succeed in their specific sports to get financial support from ONGC’s Corporate Sports Division. This program will help them achieve their goals, honour and glorify the country, and inspire the younger generation to take up athletics. The selected candidates would receive monthly scholarships worth between INR 15,000 and 30,000.
Objective
The objective of the Sports Scholarship scheme of ONGC is to provide financial assistance to the upcoming young talented sportspersons who have the potential to excel in their respective sports. This will help them pursue their dream, bring acclaim & laurels to the country and inspire the younger generation for engaging in sports activities.
Eligibility
- Sportsperson should be an Indian citizen and should not be availing of any scholarship/stipend from any other organization during the scholarship period. An undertaking in this regard shall be submitted by the applicant.
- The scholarship shall be granted to sportspersons of 14 to 25 years of age. The minimum age of 14 years will be considered as of 1st April of the year of the scholarship. However, the minimum age criteria for scholarship in Chess, Gymnastics & Swimming will be 10 years.
- The maximum age for which a scholarship can be granted is 25 years. Therefore, applicant’s upto the age of 24 years as of 1st April of the year of the scholarship can apply for the sports scholarship.
- Scholarships shall be granted for FY 2023-24.
- Being merit-based sports scholarships, each sportsperson will have to apply afresh every year.
Benefits & Facilities to the Sportspersons
- The amount of scholarship to be granted to the selected 250 meritorious sportspersons will be as under

- The sportspersons selected for a scholarship will be given chance to represent ONGC Team in PSPB/AIPSSPB and other competitions within the country. These players will be paid TA/DA and necessary expenditures for participation in the tournaments.
- The sportspersons selected for a scholarship will also be provided playing kits with the ONGC logo which they will wear during their participation in the competitions.
- The scholarship holders can avail of individual health insurance coverage for INR 5,00,000 for themself only.
- The individuals will also acquire requisite health insurance coverage on their own and premiums up to INR 7,000 will be reimbursed by ONGC.
