IIT Mandi invites applications for admission through COAP 2025 in the following M.Tech. Specializations for the semester commencing from August 2025.

Programs and Criterion for School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SCENE):

Notes
- GATE Score Exemption: The GATE score is exempted for the candidates if they satisfying the following conditions:
- For M .Tech Program: Candidates graduating/ graduated from IITs with B.Tech. Degree and having CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of 7.5 (on a scale of 10) are exempted from GATE score. The criteria of 7.5 is relaxed as under:
- OBC (NCL): 7.00 CGPA
- SC/ST/PwD: 6.5 CGPA
- It is mandatory for all candidates (except the candidate without GATE/GATE score exempted) to register at Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) Update soon and COAP registration number is mandatory for filling the application form. Admission offers will be made through the COAP portal. The applicant is responsible for the information provided. IIT Mandi or COAP does not take any responsibility for the wrong information provided by the candidates and further consequences.
- B.E. / AMIE / Other Equivalent exams will be considered as B.Tech. One may refer to https://www.iitmandi.ac.in/pdf/ordinances/Ordinances-for-M.Tech-M.Sc2020.pdf for M.Tech details.
- The eligibility criteria mentioned above are minimum and the shortlisting committee(s) may use higher cut-off levels for shortlisting.
- The shortlisting criterion may be different for different programs. Declaration of merit list may be announced separately from different schools for mentioned programs.
- There will not be any direct communication to the candidates regarding the admission process, shortlisting criteria etc. They have to visit IIT Mandi website (www.iitmandi.ac.in) for any updates related to admissions, if any.
- Candidates appearing for final examinations of their B.Tech. program with valid GATE 2025 score can also apply. The admission is offered provisionally for such candidates. At the time of the Interview / Written Test / Counseling / Spot Admissions/admission through COAP or combination or at the time of joining, they must bring a certificate in original from the head of Institute stating that by 1st August, 2025 (or date notified by the Institute), she/he will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining his/her B.Tech.degree.
- In case candidates fail to secure above mentioned qualification, the provisional admission will be terminated with immediate effect.
- IIT Mandi reserves the right to admit / not admit for any of the advertised areas.
- If the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility and merit list criteria even after getting the offer letter, their candidature will be terminated.
- Foreign nationals Candidates who are not citizens of India (by birth or naturalized) and /or are OCI/PIO card holders will be treated as foreign nationals and will consume the seats of foreign nationals. For fellowship, they should fulfil the requirement of the sponsoring agency/authority. They must meet minimum education requirements applicable for regular students. International students are expected to have a working knowledge of English.
- Applicants are advised to fill the program and specialization preference carefully on online application portal.
- For each specialization, candidates should submit a separate application with the application fee.
