The Mission of EQUALS in Tech
Reverse the increasing gender digital divide by:
- Providing opportunities for collaboration; maximizing impact and supporting the scaling up of successful projects,
- Creating a networking platform for practitioners to leverage and strengthen current efforts to bridge the gender digital divide, and,
- Measuring progress towards the goals in the partnership vision as a vehicle to accelerate the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 5, especially Target 5B.
About the EQUALS in Tech Awards 2023
The EQUALS Global Partnership is now seeking nominations for the 2023 EQUALS in Tech Awards. We want to hear about initiatives, projects, movements, organizations and institutions around the world working to bridge the gender digital divide.
Every year, EQUALS invites nominations from committed and creative initiatives aiming to give women and girls equal access to the Internet, the necessary digital skills, and career opportunities in the tech sector. The Awards are recognition from a global, multisectoral group of partners who share a commitment to gender equality in the digital age. Winners join a strong community of support and expand their networks.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Awards – join them in celebrating this milestone.
EQUALS is seeking nominations for initiatives both large and small, from around the world, in the following award categories:
- Access: Initiatives related to improving women’s and girls’ digital technology access, connectivity and security.
- Skills: Initiatives that support the development of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills of women and girls.
- Leadership in Tech: Initiatives focused on promoting women in decision-making roles within the ICT field.
- Leadership in SME: Initiatives promoted by tech sector companies to bridge the digital gender divide.
- Research: Initiatives prioritizing research on gender digital divides and producing reliable evidence to tackle diversity issues within STEM and computing fields.
Last year, EQUALS launched a new category of Awards to celebrate, promote and highlight the work of its partners: the EQUALS Special Recognition Partner Award.
