Google Ph.D. Fellowship Program 2023 is an opportunity offered by Google to support promising Ph.D. candidates of all backgrounds who seek to influence the future of technology.
Google Ph.D. Fellowships directly support graduate students as they pursue their Ph.D., as well as connect them to a Google Research Mentor.
Google Ph.D. Fellowship students are a select group recognized by Google researchers and their institutions as some of the most promising young academics in the world.
The program was created to recognize outstanding graduate students doing exceptional and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields.
The selected fellows will receive up to USD 50,000 to cover stipends and other research-related activities, and travel expenses including overseas travel for a 4-year fellowship.

Nurturing and maintaining strong relations with the academic community is a top priority at Google. The Google Ph.D. Fellowship Program was created to recognize outstanding graduate students doing exceptional and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields. Fellowships support promising Ph.D. candidates of all backgrounds who seek to influence the future of technology. Google’s mission is to foster inclusive research communities and encourages people of diverse backgrounds to apply. We currently offer Fellowships in Africa, Australia, Canada, East Asia, Europe, India, Latin America, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and the United States.

Computational neural and cognitive sciences.
Health research.
Human-Computer interaction.
Machine learning.
Machine perception, speech technology and computer vision.
Mobile computing.
Natural language processing (including Information Retrieval and Extraction).
Privacy and Security.
Programming Languages and Software Engineering.
Quantum computing.
Recommender systems.
Structured data and database management.
Systems and networking.

Eligibility

Must be a Ph.D. enrolled student at an Indian University.
Must have obtained an undergraduate/master’s degree from an Indian University.
Must be a professional who is employed with a registered organization in India.

Required Documents

Applicant’s resume with links to publications (if available).
Available transcripts (mark sheets) starting from the first year/semester of bachelor’s degree till date.
Research statement of purpose (maximum of two pages).
Three letters of recommendation from those familiar with the applicant’s work (at least one coming. from the thesis advisor in case of current Ph.D. students).

Deadline

The Google Ph.D. Fellowship India program application window is now open. Submit by 11:59:59 pm UTC-12 (AOE) April 18, 2023. Notification of decisions will be made in July 2023.
