Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the Google Telephony Platform used by various internal products to connect people around the world and reach billions of connected messaging users.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Google’s Telephony messaging infrastructure is maintained with a high degree of operational efficiency.
- Review, troubleshoot, and resolve messaging platform issues within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Interact with internal Product and Engineering teams to provision, test, and implement messaging platform changes related to new integrations of feature enhancements involving different and changing routing protocols.
- Participate in the design and implementation of messaging technologies. Identify future operational or technical capabilities that improve the scale and performance of Google Telephony and Messaging.
- Interact with our messaging partners providing an understanding of Google products, issues that need escalation and performance-related discussions.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Messaging Network Engineering and Operations.
- Experience in programming/scripting languages (such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Go, etc.)
Experience
- Experience in the network, traffic monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems (Analytics and insights).
- Knowledge of communications technologies, products, and services (e.g., voice and messaging technologies, IMS, devices and device architecture, mobile networks, and communications platforms).
- Knowledge of the SMS messaging wholesale or retail industry.
- Knowledge of messaging (SMS/RCS) architecture and industry including porting, roaming, IR21, AA.69, spam/abuse/fraud/firewalls, and Protocols (SS7, SMPP, HTTP, RTP, SIP).
- Excellent communications skills, with the ability to influence others with stellar network engineering and operation skills.
