About IIT Palakkad
Founded in 2015, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad fosters an environment of innovation, where students and faculty work to become change agents for a better world. Starting with 120 students, it has grown to nearly 1,000 and aims to reach 5,000 students by its 10th year. IIT Palakkad emphasizes collaboration with industry and academic institutions, focusing on both blue-sky and directed research as key drivers of technology development. Its vision is to lead in cross-disciplinary inquiries and contribute to India’s demographic dividend, embodying the motto: “Nurturing minds for a better world.”

The Research Scholars’ Day at IIT Palakkad is the annual flagship event that highlights the research contributions of scholars across various fields. It provides a platform for researchers to present their work, engage in insightful discussions, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration. The event features poster presentations, oral sessions, and keynote talks by prominent academicians, creating an inspiring atmosphere for innovation and knowledge exchange.
The seventh edition of Research Scholars’ Day marks a milestone with the inclusion of research scholars, postgraduate students, faculty, and industry professionals, aiming to strengthen knowledge sharing among researchers.
The term “Pravaha,” meaning “flow” in Sanskrit, perfectly captures the essence of the event. It symbolizes the continuous flow of ideas, much like a river that gains strength through tributaries and eventually merges into an ocean. This metaphor reflects how diverse research concepts come together, enriching the academic landscape and fostering innovation. Just as rivers sustain life, the flow of ideas nurtures intellectual growth and collaboration.
