About JGEC

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College(JGEC) is a premier institute for quality technical education in India. Established in 1961, the college has produced many talented engineers till date. It holds the distinction of being the second oldest engineering college in West Bengal. It is an Autonomous college fully owned by the Government of West Bengal and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.

At present, the Institute offers six UG courses – Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology & Mechanical Engineering and two PG courses – Electrical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering in the field of Technology / Engineering.

The teaching-learning process is facilitated by regular and qualified teachers. The Institute also sets its goal to be a role model in teaching, research and personality development to create skilled human resource with a sense of responsiveness towards the society, the country and the world at large.

About the Program

Students registered for a degree in any academic institution willing to carry out Summer Internship at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, Jalpaiguri in the fields of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics may apply for the Internship programme.

Accommodation

The students selected for internship may be provided hostel accommodation, if available, on payment of appropriate fees. The application for accommodation (only after being selected for internship) should reach the Proctor, JGEC, through the faculty supervisor/ the HoD, the Superintendent of the Hostel, and the Principal for permission. The cost of food and access to other amenities have to be paid by the student.

Duration

  • Not below 5 weeks and not exceeding 8 weeks.
  • From the month of June -July.

Instructions

  • A hard copy of the NOC from your Institute along with the CV signed by the student should be
    submitted at the time of joining the internship in the respective departments of the Institute.
  • The student needs to sign the attendance register kept at the Department office or the
    Academic Section
  • Student has to present their work before leaving the Institute.
