NUJS Kolkata is inviting submissions for The Dialogue Article Writing Competition on ‘Shaping Copyright in the Era of Artificial Intelligence’.

About the Competition

The NUJS Intellectual Property and Technology Laws Society (‘IPTLS’), in collaboration with The Dialogue, a distinguished tech policy think-tank is organizing an Article Writing Competition on Shaping Copyright in the Era of Artificial Intelligence, an initiative aimed at fostering academic excellence and advancing research on the nuances of this emerging and constantly evolving legal issue.

This competition provides students with a platform to engage with contemporary challenges and innovations at the intersection of AI and copyright law. By encouraging critical analysis and intellectual discourse, the event underscores our commitment to thought leadership and scholarly contributions in the evolving landscape of intellectual property and technology law.

Note: These themes are indicative in nature, and authors are free to explore any specific aspect within them or examine their interplay with other themes for a more in-depth analysis.

Participation & Eligibility

The Competition is open to students currently pursuing any undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree or a PhD program at any Indian University. Participants may compete individually or in teams of two. Teams can include members from different institutions.

Key Information

  • Word LimitThe manuscripts must be submitted as articles with a minimum of 3500 words. There is no maximum word limit. The word limit is inclusive of footnotes.
  • Abstract: Submissions must necessarily contain an abstract of not more than 200-300 words. The abstract is not included in the indicated word limit.
  • OriginalityAll manuscripts submitted must be original and unpublished, and must not be under consideration for publication at any other Journal / Blog.
  • Plagiarism & AI GuidelinesThe manuscript must not be substantially plagiarised or AI-generated. Violation of this rule will result in instant disqualification, subject to the discretion of the Organizers.
