About IIT Indore

Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore), is an institute of national importance established by the Government of India in 2009. The Department of Metallurgy Engineering and Materials Science (MEMS) is functioning fully-fledged since 2016. The emphasis of the department is to promote multidisciplinary research to find amicable solutions for the real- world problems and work on cutting-edge research problems that benefit society related to materials.

About the Program

  • The objective of this high-end workshop is to broaden the knowledge of participants and provide
    hands-on training in the areas of development for advanced materials for aerospace and space shuttle applications.
  • The topics covered in the course include recent development in Ti alloys, Al alloys, Mg alloys, lightweight composites, green composites, super alloys, shape memory alloys and etc. with a main focus on aerospace and space shuttle applications.
  • Also, the topics related to advanced processing techniques, failure analysis and microstructure characterization of materials would be discussed in detail.
  • In this course, in addition to expert lectures, practical sessions provide hands-on training to the participants for a better understanding related to the development of advanced light alloys for aerospace and space shuttle applications, their processing techniques and characterization.

Who can Apply?

Highly motivated PG / PhD students from any recognized university in India interested to enhance their knowledge in the area of advanced materials, materials development for aerospace, space applications, advanced materials processing techniques and materials characterization techniques, alloy development and mechanical testing (preferable students from mechanical, material, manufacturing, production, automotive /aerospace/ applied mechanics/ physics or equivalent branches of engineering and science) are eligible to apply.

  • Number of participants is limited.
  • There is no registration fee for the registration and participation.
  • For outstation students to and fro train/bus fare (sleeper class) and accommodation will be provided at the IITI hostel free of cost.
