Job Description
Argus Media is seeking multiple AI, Data Engineering, & Analytics Interns to join our team!
Positions require knowledge of database systems, data engineering, AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI. Interns will assist the Data Science teams at Argus in developing data tools for our internal and external clients and implementing creative internal solutions for specific business problems.
Responsibilities
Data Engineer Intern
- Utilize R programming skills to implement data processing tasks efficiently.
- Configure and manage Shiny applications for real-time data ETL & processing.
- Design and implement data storage solutions using OracleSQL.
- Utilize AWS services such as S3, EC2, and Lambda for data processing and storage.
- Develop asynchronous APIs for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize data workflows and metadata tagging and enhance overall system performance.
- Assist in managing & maintaining datasets with a focus on data integrity and security.
- Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.
- Communicate findings clearly and succinctly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Data Scientist Intern (Analytics & GenAI)
- Analyze Pricing data from disparate data sources.
- Document and communicate technical/analytic results for a non-technical audience.
- Responsible for conducting and designing quantitative analytics utilizing advanced data models, both structured and unstructured.
- Collaborate with business decision-makers and computing staff to develop and/or deploy computational approaches to business processes.
- Derive insights from enriched content data sets that are actionable for the business.
- Design, develop, and implement novel language modeling algorithms for unique use cases involving Machine Learning and large Language Models/Generative AI, and evaluate LLM models on statistical tests, business metrics, and bias.
- Evaluate the accuracy and quality of the designed models and data sources.
Required Skill Sets
- Good understanding of advanced Statistics, Probability, Machine and Deep Learning algorithms.
- Good knowledge of SQL, preferably in Oracle or MySQL, including stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Good knowledge of R (incl., R Shiny applications) and Python.
- Good knowledge of modular coding, version control systems (e.g., Git) and Unit Testing.
- Research and development experience in Prompt Engineering, Large Language Models (LLM), NLP and Generative AI.
- Data cleaning and transformation capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or similar field.
