Applications are invited for IISER Bhopal Summer Internship 2024. The last date of application is April 1.

IISER Bhopal invites applications from bright and motivated students interested in basic sciences, engineering sciences and economic sciences for its summer research internship program. Selected candidates would participate in research carried out by IISER Bhopal faculty, through research/reading projects under their supervision.

About IISER Bhopal

IISERs were created through a proclamation of Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016).

IISERs were incorporated as Institutions of National Importance under the umbrella of the NIT (Amendment) Act, 2012 (NIT Act 2007). The Act was further amended in 2014, entitled the NITSER ACT 2014. Each IISER is a degree-granting autonomous institute.

IISER Bhopal aims to provide quality science education to UG and PG students. The prime focus of the Institute is to integrate science education with research. Also, the Institute is committed to impart high ethical values and create social and environment awareness.

Eligibility

Students who have completed or be currently studying in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th year of B.Sc/B.Tech/ B.E (or) 1st year of M.Sc/M.Tech (or) an equivalent program at the time of application are encouraged to apply.

Candidates are requested to fill in the Online Internship Application Form. Providing false information will invite cancellation of application/registration.

Please Note:

Students can apply upto three projects from the listed projects.
You may browse the faculty webpages at Institute’s website to get more information about their research work.
Faculty not listed in the list of available projects will not be offering any summer projects. Kindly do not contact them directly for projects.

Important dates

The portal will be open from March 20 till April 21, 2024.

Project duration

4 to 8 weeks between May 27 and July 20.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected based on their academic performance and the write-up they submit.

Other Details

List of candidates selected for summer internship will be displayed on institute’s website by the first week of May.
No financial assistance will be provided.
Hostel accommodation will be provided and charges (Rs. 1500/- PM) will be applicable.
Mess will be charged as per actual rates, payable to the mess contractor. (Approx Rs. 3300/- PM)
After successful completion of Internship and submission of detailed project report, certificate will be issued by Faculty-in-charge.
