About Hitachi
The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence centre with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all four business units in the Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the project/engineering organization within PGGI, R&D and the AVT team.
- Collaborate with documentation and training managers to receive the applicable documentation. Integrate connections from PowerTwin to MIMS operations data.
- Converting and enhancing 3D models to the applicable PowerTwin file format and integrating them inside PowerTwin.
- Knowing how to read Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and being fully comfortable with item designations etc. to make connections to e.g. documents.
- Being able to fetch information from e.g. a Main Circuit Diagram and populate that information accordingly on all assets.
- Adding/uploading documents and tagging/labelling them appropriately in PowerTwin. Building colourized 3D HSE environments in PowerTwin based on energized areas, escape routes, safe zones, restricted zones and more.
- Always look into how we can make PowerTwin better in terms of content visualization. Customer onboarding, handover and education.
- Testing of the PowerTwin system. Internal and external (customers) maintenance support. Train other people as we grow the team.

Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 2-5 Years of experience in Autodesk suite, Navisworks, Solidworks and NX typically from an EPC background.
- Extensive knowledge in Single Line Diagrams, Main Circuit equipment, mechanical, system and electrical engineering.
- Used to a multicultural and challenging global business environment and can handle several tasks in parallel.
- Described as an energetic, motivated and self-confident person who can handle both ups and downs and manage problems that may occur.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in HVDC projects will be an added advantage. Team player with strong communicative and collaborative skills who likes to interact with other people.
