About Teach for India
Teach For India is on a journey to reach an India free of poverty and filled with love by ending educational inequity in our country. Twelve years into our journey we are a movement of 3800 Alumni working at all levels of the education system, who are reaching 1 in 10 children across the country.
These Alumni have graduated from our two-year Fellowship Program where they taught in under-resourced classrooms to put 32,000 low-income children on a different life path. Today, we have 970 Fellows and are the largest pipeline of driven, skilled talent into the educational ecosystem in India.
Position Summary
The position will entail the following primary responsibilities:
- Work with the Training vertical of the Fellowship Selection team, and aid in designing, uploading, and managing training modules to Firki.
- Prepare needs analyses and monitor training and re-training of ~100 trainees to accurately implement the Selection Model.
Duration
This is a full-time position requiring a commitment of minimum 30 hours per week and a minimum term of 2 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and other software tools.
- Basic understanding of learning management systems and e-learning platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience & Expectations
- Laptop required
- Time commitment: 6-7 hours daily, five days a week.
- Volunteered with Teach For India in the past (preferred but not mandatory)
Responsibilities
- Create, upload and organize learning content onto Firki – Teach For India’s learning management system.
- Firki is Teach For India’s Online Teacher Education Portal: a world-class, open-source blended learning programme for teachers across India to access, use and transform their teaching practice. It focuses on building skills and understanding on general pedagogy, personal development, school & community relations, and the education landscape. It is designed for both in-service and pre-service educators to improve their practice and student outcomes. Firki has 100,000+ users across India out of which 35,000+ are enrolled in the platform for courses, and a webinar database of 25,000+ participants.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and modify content as needed.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of content and metadata
- Assist with other training and development tasks as needed.
